Ukraine and Germany have concluded important investment agreements aimed at strengthening Ukraine’s defense capability. This was stated today in Berlin during a joint press conference of President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky and Chancellor of Germany Friedrich Merz.

Defense ministers of the two countries, Boris Pistorius and Rustem Umerov, signed documents that provide financing for the production of Ukrainian long -range weapons for hundreds of millions of euros and the purchase of German weapons systems. This was reported in the press service of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.

One of the key aspects of the agreement is Germany’s investment in the production of weapons in Ukraine. This will attract existing technologies and production facilities to create modern weapons systems.

In addition, Ukraine has concluded a contract with the German company Diehl Defense for the production of IRIS-T anti-aircraft missile systems and ammunition. The cost of the agreement is estimated at 2.2 billion euros. It also provides financing for repair infrastructure and the creation of a joint venture between the defense companies of the two countries.

The total volume of Germany assistance package is about five billion euros, including the supply of ammunition, land weapons, small arms, funding for military communication and medical equipment of Ukrainian production.

According to Bild, Germany plans to allocate funding for the development and batch production of winged missiles in Ukraine up to 2500 kilometers, but what models of missiles are discussed – it is not specified.

The establishment of mass production of such long -range weapons will allow the Ukrainian army to strike on the enemy’s strategic objects at the greater depth of its territory.
