On Monday, November 4, Ukraine and Lithuania signed a Memorandum on cooperation in the field of defense industry. This was announced by the Minister of Defense of Ukraine Rustem Umyerov on Facebook.
In particular, the document provides for the joint production of drones and their components, ammunition and components, means of radio-electronic warfare (REB) and the development of advanced technologies, the minister noted.
Umyerov reported that on November 4, the Minister of National Defense of Lithuania Laurinas Kaschyunas arrived in Kyiv.
“Together with his Lithuanian colleague and Minister of Strategic Industries of Ukraine Herman Smetanin, they signed a document aimed at strengthening our defenders on the battlefield,” Umyerov said.
He also noted that during the meeting with his colleague, they discussed ways to deepen cooperation between Ukraine and Lithuania. In particular, an increase in military aid to Ukraine in 2025.
“I am sincerely grateful to Lithuania and personally to Mr. Kaschyunas for the comprehensive support of Ukraine. Lithuania is our loyal friend who helps us diplomatically, economically and, most importantly, militarily,” Umerov stressed.
The Lithuanian company will help Ukraine provide electricity to 420,000 homes
On October 23, the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine announced that Lithuania will invest 10 million euros in the production of the Ukrainian Palyanitsa drone missile.
On October 16, the Ministry of Economy and Innovation of Lithuania reported on agreements with Ukraine regarding the construction of a plant for the production of new generation explosives, in particular RDX (hexane). The parties signed a memorandum of intent. Construction work should begin in 2025.
