Bitchat allows you to exchange messages with users nearby unnecessary in the phone or email. The app works through Bluetooth Low Energy (Ble) MesH: Messages are transmitted from the device to the device, unnecessary in Wi-Fi, mobile or central servers. Each smartphone becomes a network knot, transmitting encrypted messages to other users, so that the range can reach 300 meters or more thanks to Relay Lins and TTL-Marstization.

The app was created within the Open-Surce initiative “and Other Stuff” funded by Dorsi. According to him, Bitchat is an experiment in the Bluetooth MesH networks and autonomous storage and encryption models. Similar solutions have existed for more than ten years, but BitChat is focused on ease of use without connecting to a mobile network or Wi-Fi-for example, during shutdowns or blocking.
Privacy is a key topic of Bitchat. The application even has a special Panic Mode function that deletes all data after triple pressing of the logo. Developers now warn that some functions (as private messages) have not been external security audit, so the application is still considered experimental.
