“The West and Ukraine will lose this confrontation if Russia succeeds in dividing us and dictating the terms of peace. The declaration of US participation in security guarantees is a success. But the negotiations are still far from final,” he wrote on Kh.’s social network.
On December 28, US President Donald Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyi held talks in Florida (USA). They lasted more than two hours.
After that, Zelenskyi and Trump had a conversation with European leaders. According to Trump, this conversation was “important” and took place at the “appropriate time”.

Before the meeting, Trump said that “we are already in the final stages” of negotiations, but he has no deadlines. Zelensky, in turn, said that the negotiating teams of the United States and Ukraine did “everything that depended on them.” He expressed hope that all prepared documents “will lead us to real results.”
Earlier last week, the president of Ukraine called the 20-point plan, which was created during the talks between Kyiv and Washington, “a basic document on ending the war.” According to him, the plan envisages that Ukraine will receive strong security guarantees, and the number of the Armed Forces will be 800,000 in peacetime.
Representatives of the Russian government did not officially comment on this plan. The Russian authorities will demand that “key changes” be made to the 20-point peace plan developed as a result of discussions between Ukraine and the United States, Bloomberg reported, citing a source close to the Kremlin.
