Turkey has blocked Grok because of Erdogan’s images and religious values

Yevgeny Demkivsky Author of news Mezha.media and GIK. I write about technologies, cinema and games. Perhaps about games with a little more passion.

The Turkish Court ruled to restrict access to the Grok content of the XAI chatbot, founded by Ilon Musk. The decision was made after the Bot has generated the answers that the authorities found abusive to Turkish President Recep Taiip Erdogan, the founder of modern Turkey Mustafa Kemal Ataturk and religious values. Reuters writes about it.

This is the first case in Turkey, when the restriction was imposed on artificial intelligence. The Ankara Prosecutor’s Office opened criminal proceedings, and the Council on Information and Communication Technologies (BTK) imposed restrictions on the basis of a court decision. Violations are involved up to four years in prison.

According to a specialist in Jaman Acidis’s cyber rule, about 50 Grok answers were the basis for the investigation, which, according to the authorities, threatened public order. Content is created in response to Turkish requests.

Neither XAI nor Ilon Musk officially commented on the situation. Musk recently promised to update Grok, declaring the need to make a chatbot “less political correct”. After that, the “correction” XAI limited the ability to write in X, because he began to praise Hitler.
