In Turkey, a series of raids was conducted and 115 people were detained, who are suspected of having links with the Islamic State group and possible preparation of attacks during the Christmas and New Year period.

Details: The Istanbul Prosecutor’s Office announced the arrests on December 25. The Istanbul police received information that ISIS sympathizers planned terrorist attacks on the territory of Turkey, directed primarily against the non-Muslim population, during the Christmas and New Year holidays.

The raids took place before Christmas at 124 addresses in Istanbul, and according to their results, 115 out of 137 suspects were detained. Several firearms and ammunition were also seized.

Other details about the alleged plans of the attackers are currently not reported.

Earlier in December in Magdeburg, Germany detained a man who could plan a terrorist attack.
