Trump made a new statement on his social network Truth Socila. He notes that the iPhone sold in the US should only be produced in the US and nowhere else.
“I have been aware of Tim Cook for Apple for a long time that I expect their smartphones sold in the United States will be developed and manufactured in the United States, not in India or anywhere India,” Trump said.
This is not the first time when the US President speaks about iPhone production in other countries. Earlier, Trump called on Apple CEO not to expand smartphone production in India, despite the company’s plans.
Apple in recent years has been making significant steps to expand in India. Earlier, information emerged that Cupertino plans to move all iPhone production for the US market to India by the end of 2026.
