Details: Specifically, these decrees will address border security, deportation, and other policy priorities.
Trump told Republican senators about the plans during a closed-door meeting on Capitol Hill.
Many of the planned measures are expected to go into effect on Inauguration Day, January 20.
At the same time, Trump adviser Stephen Miller presented Republican senators with measures on border security and immigration control that are likely to be implemented in the near future.
“There will be a significant number of them,” said Sen. John Hoven, Republican of New Jersey.
The president-elect’s allies have been preparing a series of executive orders that Trump could quickly sign on a wide range of issues, from closing the U.S.-Mexico border to energy development, federal regulations on the use of Schedule F labor, gender policies in schools and mandatory vaccinations, and as well as other promises made during the election campaign.
The publication notes: what Trump and his team are planning is an executive coup unprecedented in the modern world, as he prepares to use power in unproven ways, bypassing the legislative apparatus of Congress.
Some of his actions may be important, others more symbolic.
Senators briefed by Trump and his team during a lengthy meeting on Capitol Hill this week expect the new administration to roll back many of the Biden administration’s executive orders while introducing their own proposals.
Completing the U.S.-Mexico border wall and creating immigration detention centers where migrants could be held pending deportation are all part of the nearly $100 billion proposal, the senators said.
Next week, many nominees for top positions in the Trump administration will have Senate confirmation hearings. Traditionally, the Senate begins voting on presidential nominations as soon as he takes office, and some are even confirmed on Inauguration Day.
We will remind: The media reported that Trump would sign an executive order removing transgender service members from the military on his first day in office.
Trump also announced his intention to fundamentally reform the Ministry of Justice in the event of his return to power. In particular, he plans to create special investigative teams to investigate alleged fraud in the 2020 election and fire key officials involved in the investigation into his affairs.
