U.S. President Donald Trump did not respond to a question about whether he advocated for the U.S. to detonate a warhead when he called for nuclear weapons tests.

Details: Asked specifically if he wanted to test a warhead, Trump said: “I don’t want to tell you that. But we’re going to test nuclear, like other countries do. We have more nuclear weapons than any other country, and we have to test.”

CNN adds that the reporter noted that other countries do not detonate warheads, but another reporter asked a question unrelated to the nuclear weapons test, changing the subject.

What preceded: High-ranking American officials responsible for the US nuclear arsenal are to meet with White House officials in the coming days to persuade them to abandon the resumption of detonation of nuclear weapons tests.

• At the end of October, Trump said that he had instructed the Pentagon to “immediately begin testing the nuclear weapons of the United States” after the statements of the ruler of the Russian Federation about the testing of the Burevesnik cruise missile with a nuclear power plant.
