The US side will be represented by Finance Minister Scott Bessent, Trade Minister Howard Latnik, and US trade representative Jajmison Grir.

“The meeting must go very well,” Trump predicts.

Last Friday, Trump accused China of violating the mutual softening agreement concluded in early May during bilateral trade talks.

According to the agreement, the US had to temporarily reduce tariffs for Chinese goods from 145% to 30%, and China would reduce duties on US imports from 125% to 10%. The parties also agreed to create a “mechanism to continue discussions on economic and trade relations.”

The other day, the US President had a conversation with China’s leader Xi Jinping and stated that they had agreed on further trade negotiations and exchanged invitations of a visit.
