On February 6, 2025, we celebrate the 33rd anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Ukraine and the Azerbaijani Republic. This is an important date that symbolizes friendship, mutual support and strategic partnership between our countries. For three decades, we have strengthened links in the political, economic, humanitarian and cultural spheres, building a strong basis for further cooperation.

Our diplomatic relations have deep historical roots. As early as 1918, official diplomatic contacts were established between the Ukrainian state and the Azerbaijani Democratic Republic, which laid a solid foundation for modern partnership. This historical heritage is an important testimony to long -lasting friendly ties between our peoples.

From the first days of independence of Ukraine and Azerbaijan, our peoples have always supported each other. On the alley of Shahid in the center of Baku, among other heroes, Ukrainian pilot Victor Seryogin, who died on January 28, 1992, managing the helicopter in the sky of Karabakh, and on the wall of the Embassy of Ukraine in the Azerbaijani Republic of Portraits of those Azerbaijanis, who have left their lives for freedom. Ukraine. We worship the feat of our heroes, together overcome the challenges, work together to build the future and rely on the principles of mutual respect, sovereignty and territorial integrity. Our countries consistently support the territorial integrity and sovereignty of each other, defending the fundamental principles of international law.

Azerbaijan is a reliable partner in trade and energy for Ukraine. The turnover of goods and services between our countries after a significant fall in 2022 is restored and gradually increasing, and strategic infrastructure projects, such as the development of a transport corridor, open up new opportunities for business and regional cooperation.

Humanitarian connections are equally important. Yesterday on February 5, 2025, President of the Republic of Azerbaijani Ilham Aliyev signed an order for the allocation of another assistance in the energy equipment for the power system of Ukraine. We are grateful that from the first days of a full -scale Russian invasion of Ukraine, Azerbaijan supports us, provides us with humanitarian assistance and assistance in demining the territories. We appreciate it very much and we will never forget it.

Educational and cultural exchange between our countries over the years has become a reliable bridge that helps to strengthen mutual understanding between peoples, and joint projects in the field of science, art, sports and youth initiatives help to preserve and multiply the historical traditions of our partnership.

On this momentous day, I want to express my sincere gratitude to our Azerbaijani friends and partners for their support and cooperation. I believe that mutual trust, joint efforts and desires for just peace and development will allow us to deepen our relationship even more and reach new heights.

With the best wishes of peace, prosperity and well -being to our peoples!

Yuri Gusev, Ambassador of Ukraine to the Republic of Azerbaijani
