In the capital of Georgia, Tbilisi, the police detained three participants of a protest near the building of the Central Election Commission after the announcement of the results of the parliamentary elections.

This is reported by News Georgia, Ukrinform reports.

According to the media, one of the founders of the opposition television channel Formula, director Georgy Liponava, is among those detained.

After the CEC announced the final results of the elections, several hundred people started a march on Agmashenebeli Avenue and blocked the road. The police demanded that part of the road be cleared. There were clashes between demonstrators and security forces. Several people reported that they were injured and were assisted by medical teams on duty nearby.

It is noted that in the office of the CEC, journalists noticed the head of the special forces, Zviad Kharazishvili, who is under US sanctions due to the violent suppression of peaceful protests.
