“I don’t understand how a person who was once the prime minister of the Czech Republic cannot realize this and acts so irresponsibly,” Pavel wrote about Babis.

The day before, it became known that the Prime Minister of the Czech Republic disclosed data on the funds that Czech companies spent on the initiative to supply shells to Ukraine. As České noviny wrote, this amount is 274 billion crowns (about 11 billion euros). Babish also accused his predecessor of concealing this information.

What happened before:

  • Before taking office, Prime Minister Andrey Babish promised to cancel the “projectile initiative”, which helps supply Ukraine with artillery ammunition.
  • At the same time, he later softened his rhetoric regarding the initiative – in particular, he said that it should be dealt with at the NATO level.
  • During Ramstein, the Czech Republic announced that the supply of 760,000 artillery shells has already been financed within the framework of the “Czech Initiative” for 2026.
