Children were promised benefits and career opportunities in the armed forces of the Russian Federation. The suspects promoted the entry of minors into the ranks of the Russian army, organized military training – training in the use of weapons, military exercises, participation in “military” events. They also produced and distributed materials that denied the armed aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine and justified it. There have been several cases when, upon reaching the age of majority, students of the so-called “Unarmy” joined the army of the Russian Federation and took part in hostilities against Ukraine. On March 15, 2022, the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation issued an order to involve members of the “Unarmy” to participate in the so-called “special military operation”, as Russian propaganda calls the war in Ukraine. According to the Strategy for the Development of Patriotic Education in the Russian Federation, at least 10% of recruits to the ranks of the armed forces must come from “Unarmy”.
