Ruslan Magamedrasulov, one of the heads of interregional offices of NABU detectives, who is suspected by the SBU and OGP of selling industrial hemp to the Russian Federation, and who participated in the investigation of the Midas case regarding embezzlement at Energoatom, said that as part of his case, law enforcement officers conducted more than 100 searches.

Details: To the journalist’s clarifying question, whether she correctly understands that more than 100 searches were conducted within the scope of his case, the head of detectives said that it is correct.

“Yes. More than 100. They actually went through my phone book: contacts, sources of information. There were recorded cases of people being beaten, people were detained for several days, they demanded evidence against me. It was a repressive machine,” Magamedrasulov said.

He added that after all this and after his stay in the pre-trial detention center, he realized that he “simply got a job.”

“For 10 years (of working at NABU – ed.), I hardly had a rest. I have accumulated more than 200 vacation days. It was an extremely nervous and exhausting period. Plus two complex operations on the head – in March and May. And after that – the pre-trial detention center. Obviously, I need rest,” Magamedrasulov said, noting, however, that he continues to work at NABU.

“Yes, I’m staying for now. There are still other cases that need to be completed,” concluded the head of detectives.

Prehistory:

• On July 21, the SBU conducted a series of searches and detentions related to the work of NABU and SAP. Then they detained one of the heads of interregional offices of NABU detectives, Ruslan Magamedrasulov.
• The SBU and OGP stated at the time that he “acted as an intermediary in the sale to the Republic of Dagestan (RF) of batches of technical hemp.”
• On July 22, a court in Kyiv ordered Magamedrasulova to be detained for 60 days.
• According to UP sources, Magamedrasulov was one of the key employees involved in documenting the activities of the businessman and co-owner of the studio “Kvartal-95” TImur Mindych.
• According to the sources of the UP in business circles, employees of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau and the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office “managed to document Mindich in the apartment at the same address where the celebration of the president’s birthday took place 5 years ago.”
• On September 10, the Pechersk court granted the request of the prosecutor’s office and kept the father of NABU employee Ruslan Magamedrasulov in custody until October 21.
• On September 12, the Pechersk District Court of Kyiv remanded NABU detective Ruslan Magamedrasulov in custody until October 21. Consideration of the issue was postponed several times due to late informing of his defenders by the prosecutor’s office.
• On October 15, the Pechersk District Court of Kyiv extended the term of the pre-trial investigation in the case of the head of one of the NABU detective units, Ruslan Magamedrasulov, and his father, Sentyabr Magamedrasulov, until January 21, 2026.
• December 3 Kyiv Court of Appeal released NABU detective Ruslan Magamedrasulov from custody in the pre-trial detention center, where he was held for 5 months.
