There were 88 combat clashes at the front, the most in the Vremivsk direction – the General Staff

Since the beginning of the day, the total number of combat clashes along the entire front line has increased to 88. The most battles were recorded in the Vremivsk, Pokrovsky and Kurakhiv directions, according to the summary of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on November 20, as of 16:00.

In the Vremivsk direction, 20 assaults by the Russian military near Trudovoy, Konstantinopolsky, Rozdolny, Velika Novosilka and Novodarivka have been stopped, and four more assaults are still ongoing, the Armed Forces say.

“Today, in the Pokrovsky direction, the enemy attacked the positions of our defenders 15 times in the areas of Myrolyubivka, Promin, Krutiy Yar, Krasniy Yar, Lyskivka, Yuryivka, Zhovte, Petrivka, Dachenske, Hryhorivka and Pushkine,” the message reads.

According to the headquarters, 12 armed clashes took place in the Kurakhiv direction in the areas of Berestki, Zorya, Sontsivka, Maksimilianivka, Katerynivka, Elizavetivka and Antonivka settlements.

In addition, battles continued in the Kharkiv, Kupyan, Lyman, Kramatorsk, Toretsk, Orihiv, Dnieper directions.

The American Institute for the Study of War stated in its report on November 17 that the Russian army will probably focus in the winter of 2024-2025 on capturing front-line Ukrainian cities and on urban battles.

According to the project of Radio Liberty Donbas.Realii, the main battle of the winter will obviously be the battle for Pokrovsk, to which the Russian army is approaching from the south and southeast.
