On the Today broadcast, he praised the courage and strength of Ukrainians in the confrontation with Russia.
“I think that Ukrainians were incredibly brave and strong when they stood up to Russia. But at the end of the day, what we are funding here is a stalemate, and it must be brought to an end. I think there has to be some common sense here,” Rubio said.
“Not the worst scenario for Ukraine.” Trump will not accept Putin’s ultimatums, because they will “bring America to its knees” – interview with Chaly
Senator Rubio commented on Trump’s statement that he could end hostilities in Ukraine in 24 hours, noting that Trump really wants to end the war. Rubio emphasized: “You don’t have to be a fan of Vladimir Putin to want the war to end.”
He also expressed the opinion that it will take about a hundred years to restore Ukraine after the current conflict, pointing to the scale of the destruction and the long process of rebuilding the country’s infrastructure and economy.
The New York Post previously reported that Trump’s team is actively considering Rubio’s nomination for secretary of state.
