In Pokrovsk, a landing force of the GUR of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine landed, other troops are also working, and currently “the operation to push the Russian forces out of the city is ongoing,” said the Commander-in-Chief of the Ukrainian Armed Forces Oleksandr Syrskyi.

“In the Pokrovsk-Myrnograd agglomeration, our soldiers have to hold back the pressure of a group of thousands of enemies who continue to try to infiltrate residential buildings and cut off our supply routes. However, there is no encirclement or blocking of cities, we are doing everything to implement logistics,” he said.

According to Sirskyi, an operation to destroy and expel Russian forces from Pokrovsk is currently underway. Various troops, including the GUR of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, are participating in the operation.

“The main burden is on the shoulders of units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, in particular BpS operators, assault units. Also, by my order, combined groups of the Special Operations Forces, the Special Operations Forces, the SBU, other parts of the Defense Forces of Ukraine, including the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, are working in the city,” the post says.

Syrsky emphasized that the Russian forces in Pokrovsk “are paying the most expensive price to fulfill the task of dictator Vladimir Putin regarding the occupation of the Ukrainian Donbas.”

“We continue the liberation and cleaning of the territory on the Dobropilsky ledge. Pokrovsk – we hold. Myrnograd – we’re holding it,” the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces informs.

Earlier it became known that Ukraine sent special forces to conduct combat operations in the eastern part of the city of Pokrovsk, which is under siege, precisely at the moment when Russia announced that it had surrounded Ukrainian troops in the area, Reuters reported, citing two Ukrainian military sources.

Russia’s capture of Pokrovsk, an important road and rail hub, could open the way for Russia to advance further into the eastern part of Donetsk Oblast, which the Russian army aims to fully occupy. Russian troops have been advancing to Pokrovsk for over a year.

Reuters, with reference to a source in the 7th rapid response corps of the Airborne Assault Forces, writes that a few days ago, GUR special forces landed in Pokrovsk on a Black Hawk helicopter as part of an operation that was complicated by the actions of Russian drones. The operation was led by the head of Ukrainian military intelligence, Kyrylo Budanov.

The Pokrovsky direction remains one of the most active areas of the front, where intense fighting continues.

Last week, on October 26, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine confirmed the penetration of Russian troops into Pokrovsk.

The Russian army has advanced within the borders of Pokrovsk – this was reported by the DeepState project in the morning of October 29. On the map of the hostilities, a “red zone” has grown in the south of the city, and a “gray” zone, indicating the presence of the enemy, has reached its northern outskirts.

Pokrovsk – a city with a population of about 7,000 people (more than 60,000 before the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation) – is an important road and railway junction and was under threat of encirclement by Russian troops for most of the year.
