Recently, the head of the Come Back Alive Foundation, Taras Chmut, said that it is time for Moldova to regain control over Transnistria, occupied by Russia, and withdraw Russian military personnel from there. Israeli military commentator Yigal Levin agrees with him, who shared his opinion on this on Radio NV.
“I still don’t understand why they haven’t really come in yet. It’s just an obvious direction for Ukrainian forces and troops. Apparently, there are some considerations, maybe plans. Maybe they keep it for dessert, I don’t know,” said Levin.
He suggested what to do with the fact that this is the occupied territory of Moldova:
“Ukraine is at war with Russia, there are Russian troops there, this is the goal. This is the territory of Moldova, there are Russian troops on your territory, with your permission? No. Russia is at war with us, it wants to destroy us, please remove these Russian troops from there. you can’t Do you have no strength? Then we will do it. That’s all.”
According to Levin, no one is going to annex the territories of Molodva, but there is a need to eliminate the military threat:
“There are Russian troops, plus their fighters, with weapons, warehouses, etc. Ukraine wants to simply destroy them so that they do not sit in the rear. Ukraine has a front and Russian troops sit in the rear. It’s a delusion, it’s a pain, it shouldn’t be like that. It is clear that Moldova will tense up, because hostilities are right under your nose. Anyone will tense up. Well, this is war, in war people are stressed. And how did they want? So that everything works out and the pots are not broken. It doesn’t happen like that. When there is a war, many pots are broken.”
On January 1, centralized heating and hot water supply were turned off in Transnistria, because Ukraine stopped gas transit through its territory.
On January 3, it was reported that Transnistria did not take advantage of Moldova’s offer to purchase gas in Europe, as a result of which fan power cuts were introduced.
Political scientist Vadym Denysenko explained to NV how Russian dictator Vladimir Putin wants to take advantage of this situation.
