In the Some People cultural center, the Nafta independent theater will present stage readings of texts created within the framework of the Veterans Theater.
The festival program includes four stage readings of new plays:
October 25 from From 18:00 to 20:30 the audience will hear “Balance” playwright and veteran Alina Sarnatska in the reading of Artem Vusyk and “Dragon Strike” playwright and veteran Gennady Udovenkowhich Sofia Onishchenko is working on.
On October 26 from 18:00 to 21:00 there will be readings of plays “21” playwright, screenwriter Olga Murashko, who is also the wife of a serviceman, staged by Nina Khyzhnaya and “Ahmed” military serviceman, former journalist and co-founder of “Veterans Theater” Yurii Matsarskyi, who comes from Kharkiv. His play will be presented by the “Veterans Theater” team.
Events posterEach reading will be followed by a discussion of the texts, and on Sunday, October 26, the evening will conclude with an artist talk – a conversation about theater, the experience of war, and art as a way of remembering and restoring.

“Veterans Theater” is an initiative of TRO Media and Playwrights Theater with the slogan “The world should see Ukraine through the eyes of its defenders.” It is a platform for psychological support, creative implementation and dissemination of the unique experience of veterans.
Nafta Theater – an independent alternative theater operating in Kharkiv since 2018. Actors and actresses combine artistic and educational practices, exploring themes of post-colonialism, consciousness, inclusivity and ecology.
The project is a member of the “Culture and Human Rights” cohort within the UNESCO Art-Lab for Human Rights and Dialogue program.
