The White House said there are “several delicate but not insurmountable details” of the peace agreement that require further negotiations between Ukraine, Russia and the United States.

“Over the past week, the United States has made significant progress toward a peace agreement, involving both Ukraine and Russia in the negotiations. There are several delicate, but not insurmountable, details that need to be resolved and that will require further negotiations between Ukraine, Russia, and the United States,” White House spokeswoman Caroline Levitt wrote on the Kh social network.

British Prime Minister Keir Starmer also said that the initial draft of the US peace plan contained points that were “unacceptable” but also had some very important elements “that will be necessary for a just and lasting peace.”

The publication Axios, citing sources, writes that on November 25 in the United Arab Emirates, in the city of Abu Dhabi, where negotiations between representatives of the USA and Russia are taking place, a delegation of Ukraine is also present.

It is reported that in Abu Dhabi, the special envoy of the US president, Dan Driscoll, is discussing with representatives of the Russian Federation a new version of Donald Trump’s plan, which was adjusted based on the results of the negotiations between the US, Ukraine and European countries in Geneva.

According to mass media, the new plan has not 28, but 19 points. It excludes demands for limiting the size of the Armed Forces and amnesty for war crimes. Territorial issues are expected to be discussed by President Volodymyr Zelenskyi and Donald Trump during a personal meeting in the coming days.

On November 23, in Geneva, the United States and Ukraine tried to converge on the plan to end the war proposed by the Trump administration. In a statement by the White House and the Office of the President of Ukraine following the meeting, it was said that the parties have prepared an updated and refined concept that fully supports Ukraine’s sovereignty and will help ensure a just peace.

Kyiv’s allies considered the initial draft of the proposals to be a “Kremlin’s wish list.” Fears were expressed that the Trump administration could push Ukraine to sign a peace agreement that is heavily oriented toward Moscow. Reuters writes that the 28-point peace plan caught some officials in the government of the United States by surprise.

Russian President Dmitry Peskov’s spokesman said earlier on November 25 that Moscow considers Trump’s initial plan “a very good basis for negotiations.” He noted that in Moscow they “understand” that in the process of consultations between the USA and Ukraine, adjustments are being made to the plan.

But, according to him, Moscow still has not received any updated peace plans to end the war in Ukraine. Peskov also said that he had “nothing to say” about the talks between US representative Daniel Driscoll and the Russian delegation in Abu Dhabi.
