Details: According to her, Biden and Trump spoke for about two hours, with the current and future chiefs of staff of the White House present.
“The meeting was meaningful, there was an exchange of views. They discussed important issues of national security and domestic policy that faced the country and the world,” Jean-Pierre added without elaborating.
Also, the spokeswoman noted, Biden violated “important items on the agenda of Congress” related to the approval of the federal budget and assistance to victims of natural disasters in the United States.
“Finally, the president repeated what he told the president-elect the day after the election and to Americans in the Rose Garden last week: ‘We will have an orderly and peaceful transfer of power,'” she concluded.
Earlier on Wednesday, it was reported that the US president-elect arrived at the White House, where he was received by Joe Biden to discuss the transfer of power.
According to the latest count, Donald Trump won 312 electoral votes in the November 5 presidential election, short of the minimum required 270.
