“There are explosions in Ukraine, and a Russian woman is sitting nearby.” Oksana Boturchuk – about the provocations at the Paralympics, Yanukovych’s fear and the film about herself, Pulse
In a conversation with the NV journalist, the athlete shared that she could not visit Disneyland because she did not have enough free time for this, but her three children were not left without surprises. The athlete brought them mascots of the 2024 Games and T-shirts with Parisian symbols.
“I regret that I was not in Disneyland, although our athletes wanted to visit it, but the weather turned bad. And I started almost until the last day of the Paralympics, so I didn’t have time. But I brought gifts for the children, they all received a mascot of the Games, they were handed to me when they awarded medals and I bought another one, because I have three children. She also bought them T-shirts with Parisian symbols. My daughter practices judo, so the girls asked her during training: “Is this T-shirt from Paris?”, she answered: “Yes, my mother brought it to me.” (laughs), that is, she appreciated, she liked the gifts.
By the way, I left my children with my husband when I was at the Paralympics. He didn’t complain about them, they were all good guys, my mother helped them, and the eldest daughter also took on a lot, because her husband got sick for a few days. But they, as a team, were able to stay without me.
It was psychologically difficult for me, I was very worried, because I am in Paris under a peaceful sky, and they are in Ukraine under shelling. I woke up at night, and we have an air alarm, very difficult. When I ran the last race of 200 meters, my husband called the coach and said: “That’s it, Oksana is finishing and we won’t let her go anywhere else,” Boturchuk said.
We will remind that at the 2024 Games in the capital of France, the athlete won bronze in the 400-meter run and silver in the 100-meter run in the T12 class (the category of athletes who cannot see objects at a distance of more than 2 meters). It is worth noting that thanks to this, the athlete became the Ukrainian record holder for the number of medals at the Paralympics in athletics – 12.
