The war will end but the struggle for Ukraine will continue

It is unlikely that anyone in Ukraine or the world could take seriously information about the fact that the Great War on the continent – with the struggle of armies, destruction and shelling of cities and thousands of casualties – will continue for the fourth year. Although nowhere is the truth, even then, in the first months of the war, there were always professional experts that were reminiscent of all over the first months , continues for years without any hope of finding a solution, – writes Vitaliy Portnikov for radio.

But the human psyche is so arranged that we always hope for the best and try not to pay attention to historical parallels and political processes. Even now, when Russian goals are obvious in this terrible war, many hope that you can find a simple recipe for how to stop Vladimir Putin, a simple answer to difficult questions about war, aggression and chauvinistic moods.

Today, many will talk about these difficult years, but I prefer to think about the future.

Thus, Ukrainian society has demonstrated its power and ability to cohesion and solidarity, which is why its defragmentation will be one of Russia’s main goals in the future.

Yes, the Ukrainian state demonstrated its ability to resist and that is why its discredit and creation of conditions for strife and ambitions – especially against the background of the eternal ghost of the election – will be one of the main tasks of the Kremlin.

It has been demonstrated that its language, culture and history, their church is what really matters

Yes, the Ukrainian army was able to resist the enemy and not to give it the opportunity to occupy large territories of the country – which is why attempts to degradate it will be an important task of the Russian leadership.

Russia will never leave Ukrainians alone

Yes, it was demonstrated that its language, its culture and history, its church is what really matters. That is why Russia will insist on “guarantees” for the Russian language and the ROC, which is why the cultural expansion of the “Russian world” is an important area of ​​struggle against Ukraine and Ukrainian.

Yes, the war can end. We do not know when and do not know how, but we understand that it will be a difficult finale. And we must remember that the first years after the war is no less difficult period than the war itself. It is a getting rid of shock, it is a way out of military anesthesia, it is a return to discussions and conflicts within the country.

And Russia will actively feed every conflict – it will never leave Ukrainians alone because the issue of control over Ukraine is an existential issue. And you have already seen: the Kremlin does not need any separate “territories”, it is just nonsense. Putin needs that Ukraine does not exist on this earth.

Ukraine is a choice and struggle

I always explain that Ukraine is not just fate, it is a choice and understanding of reality.

Do you want to live in a peaceful and peaceful country? Then you are unlikely to find such an atmosphere in Ukraine in the coming decades. Do you want a responsible society and a thoughtful vote in the election? Do you want a quick victory over total corruption? It won’t happen quickly. Do you want to speak only Ukrainian in the streets around the streets, and visited the temples of Ukrainian churches on holidays? But it is a complex evolutionary process.

Therefore, Ukraine is not only a choice but also a struggle. Struggle for your future and future of your children. Would you like to see a unique Ukrainian landscape every day and want your children to see it? Do you want your children to speak Ukrainian? Do you want to be here at home, not guests? Then you will have to live here, but also to fight.

It is worth your desire and the desire of your children to be here, not somewhere. Be at home. To be in Ukraine. To build it at home, not to forget in a foreign land. To believe and not to be afraid.
