Before the meeting, Zelenskyi said that Kyiv is ready to negotiate with the United States regarding the supply of Tomahawk missiles in exchange for Ukrainian-made drones. Trump, in turn, confirmed US interest in Ukrainian drones.
But regarding Tomahawk missiles, after the meeting in the White House, the parties decided not to make statements.
On October 8, Zelenskyi, after discussing with the heads of investment funds and business associations the increase in the capabilities of the Ukrainian defense industry and the opening of weapons export platforms, stated that in 2026 the potential in the production of drones and missiles alone will be 35 billion dollars.
According to the Ministry of Defense, in 2024 drones produced in Ukraine accounted for more than 96% of all UAVs used by the Defense Forces, and more than 330 samples of Ukrainian-made unmanned systems were admitted to service in the Armed Forces.
