Details: The list of organizations in which the US should immediately stop participating includes little-known intergovernmental associations that did not carry out active activities, as well as authoritative structures, in particular – in international law.

In particular, Trump ordered the US to withdraw from the Venice Commission. This organization (its full name is the European Commission for Democracy through Law) operates under the umbrella of the Council of Europe, but is also open to non-European membership. The US has it status a full member.
Venice provides expertise on the legislation of its members in terms of the rule of law, constitutional justice, human rights legislation, etc. In Ukraine, she is known for her conclusions on politically important issues, which Kyiv must take into account, as their implementation often becomes a requirement of the EU. However, for the United States itself, the conclusions of the Venetian woman have no political weight. The withdrawal of the United States from the commission deprives Washington of a small leverage to participate in these processes.
The United States also leaves the Residual Mechanism of International Criminal Tribunals. It is a structure in The Hague that prosecutes international crimes in the former Yugoslavia, during the Balkan wars, and genocide in Rwanda after the main criminal tribunals investigating those crimes have completed their work and been dissolved. For example, in 2023, the Residual Mechanism considered and rejected the appeal of two Serbian war criminals, Jovica Sanšić and Franko Simatović, who were convicted of violations during the Kosovo war.

- The US under Trump is extremely critical of international criminal justice. On a number of officials and judges Trump imposed sanctions on the International Criminal Court, and the ISS itself also faced restrictions.
- It is noteworthy that the USA currently does not block the creation of the Special Tribunal for the Crime of Russian Aggression, but also does not participate in this process.
- In December, it was reported that the US is putting pressure on the ISS, to insure Trump against possible prosecution.
- At the same time, the Netherlands is preparing protect the ISS from possible Trump sanctions.
