The US Embassy welcomed the agreement on the supply of American LNG to Ukraine through the “Vertical Corridor”

The US Embassy in Ukraine welcomed the agreement on the first delivery of American liquefied natural gas (LNG) to Ukraine in March. “We are happy to hear the news about the first delivery of American LNG to Ukraine through the Vertical Corridor.” This is a win-win deal for Ukraine and America, it announces a new route to replace Russian gas in Europe and demonstrates how American business supports Ukraine’s energy security,” the embassy said in a message on the social network. The day before, Reuters reported that the Greek joint venture Atlantic See LNG Trade signed its first agreement for the supply of American liquefied natural gas to Ukraine in March. It is noted that the cargo of American LNG will reach the Greek LNG terminal of Revituss, and its delivery to the Ukrainian company “Naftogaz” is scheduled for March through the pipeline connecting Greece with Ukraine through Bulgaria, Romania and Moldova. In November of last year, the Ukrainian Naftogaz Group agreed with Atlantic See LNG Trade to jointly develop the supply of LNG of American origin to Europe and Ukraine through Greek gas terminals and the Vertical Corridor. The “Vertical Gas Corridor” project is an initiative that unites the efforts of several operators of gas transportation systems in the European Union to implement a joint transit product and increase diversified gas volumes for the Central and Eastern EU region. The corridor will connect the LNG terminals of Greece, Bulgaria, Romania and Ukraine.
