“Israel supported this proposal before Hamas was sent,” she said, adding that the corresponding negotiations were continuing.
The White House spokeswoman said that, according to her, Hamas had not yet approved the agreement.
The group subsequently sent to the AR agency stated that it received a proposal for a truce in gas and “responsibly considers it in order to satisfy the interests of our people, to assist him and to achieve a permanent ceasefire in the Gaza Sector.”
The proposal, as previously reported, provides for the installation of a 60-day truce in gas in exchange for the mutual release of held Hamas hostages and fighters held in Israeli prices.
Witcoff’s proposal does not have clear guarantees from the United States, which should ensure that a temporary truce would be a step towards a long stop of hostilities.
Before that, the media reported that the United States believes in a close “breakthrough” in negotiations to cease hostilities in the Gaza Sector.
