Belarusian border guards detained a US citizen who is suspected of illegally crossing the state border. The State Border Committee of Belarus announced this on April 1.
The man was detained on the night of March 31 at the Molode Railway Station.
According to the border guards, on March 24, a US citizen tried to get to Belarus from Lithuania twice.
“During the border control, he was unable to confirm the availability of funds necessary to cover his expenses in the Republic of Belarus and leave our country, which was refused entry,” the statement said.
According to the report, after bringing to administrative responsibility an American citizen is deported to Lithuania.
