“I keep repeating this, because I not only believe in it, but also very carefully follow what is happening at the negotiations. I believe that we are closer to peace in Ukraine than ever before,” Whitaker said.
He added that President Trump and President Zelensky will sign the documents regarding the peace agreement “properly and when the time comes.”
“I am convinced that we should continue to pray for peace, but at the same time make sure that Ukraine continues to receive everything necessary for self-defense through PURL and other initiatives,” the US ambassador to NATO emphasized.
As “Evropeyska Pravda” reported, the USA expects new announcements about the purchase of American weapons for Ukraine on February 12.
The US ambassador to NATO also named the three countries that bought Ukraine the most American weapons within the framework of PURL.
It will be recalled that NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte promised during his visit to Ukraine that he would find more than $15 billion for the purchase of weapons for the Armed Forces within the framework of PURL.
