“The risk is increasing that this conflict can quickly get out of control-with catastrophic consequences for the civilian population, region and the world,” the UN Secretary General.

Guterrish called on all Member States for de-escalation and compliance with its obligations under the UN Charter and other rules of international law.

“There is no military solution. The only way forward is diplomacy,” Guterres emphasized.

Prehistory:

  • On the night of June 13, Israel struck a “preventive blow” aimed at undermining the nuclear program and against Iran’s military facilities.
  • On June 22, at about 2:30 am, the US military-air forces attacked three nuclear objects of Iran-Ford, Nathanz and Isfahan.
  • Following the successful attack of the US military on key nuclear objects of Iran, US President Donald Trump said Tehran should make peace immediately. Otherwise, he said, future air strikes will be “much larger.”
