On the night of January 17, the Russian military attacked the territory of Ukraine with 115 attack UAVs of the Shahed, Gerbera, Italmas and other types from four directions in Russia and occupied Donetsk, about 75 of them were Shaheds, the Air Force of the Ukrainian Armed Forces reports.

“According to preliminary data, as of 07:30, air defense shot down/suppressed 96 enemy UAVs of the Shahed, Gerbera and other types of drones in the north, south and east of the country. 16 strike UAVs were hit at 11 locations, as well as downed (debris) at two locations,” the Ukrainian military informs, adding that the attack continues, “there are several enemy UAVs in the airspace.”

The Russian military regularly attacks Ukrainian regions with various types of weapons – attack UAVs, rockets, anti-aircraft missiles, and anti-aircraft missiles.

The leadership of Russia denies that the Russian army during a full-scale war inflicts targeted strikes on the civilian infrastructure of the cities and villages of Ukraine, killing the civilian population and destroying hospitals, schools, kindergartens, energy and water supply facilities.

The Ukrainian authorities and international organizations qualify these strikes as war crimes of the Russian Federation and emphasize that they are purposeful in nature.
