“For September and October, the average monthly temperature is expected to be two to three degrees above the climatic norm. In November, we will be closer to the climatic norm. In September, we have a deficit of precipitation. In October, it is already closer to the norm,” said the spokeswoman of the Ukrhydrometeorological center Nataliya Ptuha at the briefing.
“We really had abnormally high temperature values throughout the summer, and September also entered a more summery character for us. We are currently experiencing a meteorological summer, because the temperature has not dropped enough to be able to record the fact of the onset of meteorological autumn,” added Ptukha.
Earlier, the Borys Sreznevsky Central Geophysical Observatory reported that the average air temperature this summer in Kyiv was +23 degrees Celsius, which exceeded the climatic norm by 2.6 degrees.
