“With budgetary issues in the center of attention – recovery. Ukraine is actively implementing the reform of public investment management. In 2024, the Strategic Investment Council began work, which approved the Unified Portfolio of Public Investments – 787 projects, of which 92 projects were selected for this year,” Shmyhal said .
He noted that the strategic council approved the priority areas of recovery this year:
social sphere, where the focus is on housing reconstruction, education and science, health care, first of all we are talking about shelter in schools, hospitals, etc. This is social protection and means of livelihood for Ukrainians;
reconstruction of infrastructure: energy, in particular protection of energy facilities, transport, water supply and drainage;
cross-cutting sectors such as demining, emergency response and civil protection, including large “Finnish-model” shelters.
“One of our priorities remains the support of the private sector. We invest in the development of SMEs. We count on the financial assistance of our partners to strengthen the relevant government programs. All these measures will create safe conditions, new jobs and contribute to the development of the economy, which will also become an important prerequisite for the return of Ukrainians,” Shmyhal added.
