On December 18, the Ministry of Defense of Russia confirmed that the Ukrainian military had struck the Kombinat Kamiansky plant in the Rostov region.
Earlier, acting governor of the Rostov region of the Russian Federation Yuriy Slyusar said that the region was hit by a missile attack.
According to Slyusar, a residential building caught fire due to falling debris in the Mala Kamianka village, several others were damaged by the debris, and a fragment of a rocket was found in another yard.
Subsequently, Andriy Kovalenko, the head of the Center for Countering Disinformation at the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, stated that one of the largest chemical enterprises in Russia, FKP “Kombinat Kamiansky”, was attacked in the Rostov region. According to him, the company is engaged in the production of rocket fuel (specializes in the production of solid fuel components for rocket engines, in particular for multiple rocket launchers and intercontinental ballistic missiles on solid fuel).
After the start of the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine, Russian regions and Russian-occupied territories of Ukraine regularly come under shelling and drone attacks. The Russian Ministry of Defense reports on downed missiles and drones. Kyiv mostly does not comment on these messages.
