The US State Department assures that Washington supports Ukraine with air defense systems to Ukraine.

According to US State Department spokeswoman Temmy Bruce, the United States is “the greatest supporter and defender of Ukraine.”

“We want them to have air defense. We want them to be able to withstand rockets flying on them. We know that the question of our European partners that have these systems has been discussed to Ukraine. There are a number of different negotiations and aspects associated with dynamics that do not relate to the State Department. It’s about ammunition, purchasing and more, ”Temmy Bruce said during a briefing.

According to her, the United States is dedicated to this war end.

“I can’t talk about details, and of course I cannot say that we do not allow Ukraine to do something. On the contrary, it has always been the opposite. Our goal is to make this war over and we continue to focus on it, ”she added.

At the same time, the State Department spokeswoman refused to comment on the report that the United States allegedly redirected part of the promised defense weapon of Ukraine to the Middle East.

Last week, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that Ukraine is still awaiting the answer from the United States to the proposal to buy air defense systems.

“Positive signals from the United States are very needed – specific air defense signals. We are still waiting for the answer to the offer to buy systems that can help. Specific signals, not words, ”he said on June 7 in video.

The Ambassador of the United States to NATO Matthew Witiker stated on June 4 that the Trump administration had not yet made decisions on future assistance to Ukraine, as it remains “focused on preserving the possibilities of President Trump to terminate hostilities.”
