The SBU declares the detention of two Russian agents – they prepared a sabotage on the railway in Odesa region

The Security Service of Ukraine declares the detention of two Russian agents who tried to launch a cargo train in Odesa region.

According to the press service of the department, for this purpose the persons involved at night began to disassemble part of the track and kill the metal reinforcement in its joints, at the same time they were detained.

According to the investigation, there are two locals of 17 and 18 years of age who were looking for “light” money on thematic telegrams, they “saw” them there and remotely recruited a representative of the Russian special services, who coordinated an attempt at a terrorist attack in Odessa in January this year.

The Attorney General’s office specifies that at the end of January, they dismantled some of the railways on a segment of 20 meters and installed pins on the rails. This could have caused catastrophic consequences – rails, passengers’ death and strategic cargo destruction.

The detainees were informed of the suspicion of diversion committed by prior conspiracy by a group of persons in the conditions of martial law (Part 2 of Article 28, Part 2 of Article 113 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). The court chose them precautions in the form of detention.

Ukrainian law enforcement officers regularly report the detention of people whom they call Russian agents. They are suspected in the state community, sabotage to order Russian special services.
