According to the results of a multi-stage special operation in Kyiv, an FSB agent was exposed who tried to eliminate a Ukrainian soldier in the central part of the city.”
Details: It is noted that the attacker was arrested “red handed” in one of the capital’s institutions, when he took out a gun and aimed at a military GUR in the central part of Kyiv.
The investigation established that the attempt was carried out by a 28-year-old citizen of one of the countries of Central Asia. According to the special service, he was recruited abroad when he was looking for quick money in Telegram channels. After that, the man, pretending to be a tourist, came to Ukraine and first stopped in Pervomaisk in the Mykolayiv region, where he bought several phones and SIM cards, which he regularly changed in order to communicate with the curator.
Later, he left for Kyiv, received a photo of a potential target, approximate geolocations and coordinates of the cache, from where, according to the SBU, he took the pistol with ammunition. He was allegedly promised 50,000 dollars and “legalization” in one of the EU countries for the murder.
At the scene of the incident, a weapon with ammunition and a phone with data on contacts with the FSB were seized from the detainee, the SBU added.
Investigators charged the man with attempted murder, aiding an aggressor state, and illegal handling of weapons. The suspect is in custody and faces life imprisonment with confiscation of property.
