The State Bureau of Investigation reported the suspicion to the battalion commander who, despite the prohibition of the General Staff, gathered more than 100 subordinates to hold celebrations in Dnipropetrovsk Oblast on November 1.

According to the investigation, on that day the Russian military “attacked the Dnipropetrovsk region with two ballistic missiles, probably of the Iskander type, and three Geran attack drones directly during the awards ceremony.”

The Prosecutor General’s Office adds that 12 servicemen and seven civilians were killed as a result of the strike. Another 36 servicemen were also injured.

The commander was notified of the suspicion under Part 4 of Art. 425 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine – negligent attitude to military service committed under martial law. The question of choosing a preventive measure is being decided, it is about detention.

“In wartime, mass gatherings, ceremonies or awards in areas of possible missile danger are unacceptable. Commanders are personally responsible for the lives and safety of subordinates,” the SBI message reads.

On November 2, the “East” military group reported that as a result of the Russian strike on November 1 in the Dnipropetrovsk region, there were dead and wounded among the servicemen of the Armed Forces.
