The Russian occupation forces have new advances in the center of the city of Toretsk and in the Pokrovsky direction, where they probably captured the village of Krutiy Yar. Instead, the Armed Forces of Ukraine have new advances in the Glushkiv district of the Kursk region.

This is stated in a new report of the Institute for the Study of War.

Ukrainian forces have recently advanced in the Glushki district of the Kursk region to the west of the Ukrainian salient in Kurshchyna – against the background of the continuation of offensive operations of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in this area. Geo-verified footage published on September 29 shows that the Ukrainian Armed Forces have recently advanced to the west and northwest of Vesely (south of Hlushkovo) and probably captured the northwestern part of this village.

Video of the day

We are talking about the area where the Armed Forces broke through the border and began advancing in mid-September. On September 12, Forbes wrote that Ukrainian troops, with the support of drones and tanks, broke through a new section of the Russian border to the west of Ukrainian-controlled territories in the Kursk region, specifically in the Glushkiv district. Then the Ukrainian drone group Horn, which supported the breakthrough operation, published a video showing how an armored column of the Armed Forces of Ukraine crossed the border and then moved at high speed along the roads leading to the village of Vesele.

In the Pokrovsky direction Russian troops advanced. Geolocated footage published on September 29 shows that the occupiers have made some progress near the railway line south of Selidovoy (southeast of Pokrovsk), in the southern part of the village of Krasniy Yar and probably captured the rest of the village of Krutiy Yar (both villages belong to the Grodi community of the Pokrovsky district of the Donetsk region). On September 29, Russian “militants” also claimed that Russian troops allegedly advanced further south of Selidovoy and east and northwest of Tsukurino, but ISW did not find confirmation of these claims.

Russian forces have also recently advanced into Toretsk. Geolocated footage from September 29 shows that Russian forces have recently advanced within the city — in a western direction along Druzhba Street in the center of Toretsk. On September 28 and 29, Russian troops continued their offensive near Toretsk itself, south of Toretsk in the Nelypivka area, and west of Toretsk in the direction of Shcherbinivka.
