Residents of some occupied settlements of the Zaporizhzhia region are under a complete blockade, Mykola Vinichenko, the head of the Orihiv city military administration, told the Radio Svoboda project “News of Azov”. According to him, people do not receive humanitarian aid, while the Russian military does not release residents from the occupation.

“Currently, we have three settlements occupied – Nesteryanka, Kopani, Myrne. There are 78 people staying in Nesteryanka, 54 people in Kopany, and two children staying in Mirny. At present, humanitarian aid is not provided to them. The last time it was in August – they were brought cereals and stew. People collect water from the rainwater, they mostly eat what grew in the garden. These settlements are shelled every day, a lot of drones are flying, people are not being let out. Previously, people could go to Tokmak, but now they have been blocked. They don’t help with anything and don’t let them go anywhere,” said the head of the MBA.

According to him, the number of Russian soldiers in these settlements is not decreasing, they move mainly at night, when locals are forbidden to leave their homes. Also, the occupiers conduct constant searches and inspections of civilians, Vinichenko added.

Given the hostilities and Russia’s occupation of parts of the southern territories of Ukraine, the editors cannot obtain independent confirmation of some of the statements made or verify them.

Earlier this month, the spokesman for the operational group of troops “Tavria” Dmytro Lykhova told the Radio Liberty project “News of Azov” that in the Zaporizhzhia region, Russian assaults on the front have decreased over the past month. According to him, in some areas of the front, the Russian army does not dare to engage in active combat operations. The spokesman does not rule out that this is connected with the withdrawal of a certain number of Russian troops from this direction.
