In Russia, a military court sentenced two people to long terms in a high-security prison in a case of high treason. Anatoly Kapralov and Gennady Blinov received 15 and 14 years, respectively, the Prosecutor General’s Office reports.

According to the investigation, in 2023 Kapralov transferred $676,000 to “saturate the resource base of henchmen of the Ukrainian regime operating on the territory of Russia.” Later, he and Blinov, allegedly on the instructions of Ukrainian intelligence, purchased a batch of Russian SIM cards and transported them to the territory of Ukraine.

The prosecutor’s office claims that these SIM cards were used in the attacks of Ukrainian drones on the Soltsy-2 airbase in the Novgorod region and the Shaykivka military airfield in the Kaluga region in August 2023.

Radio Svoboda Pivnich.Realii project previously found out that in the first six months of 2025, Russian courts convicted 105 people under the article on treason. At the same time, human rights defenders from the “First Department” counted 1.7 times more – 177 people, and a total of 232 people under articles on treason, espionage and confidential cooperation with foreigners.
