Details: According to the Air Force, from 6:30 p.m. on January 8, the enemy launched a combined attack on critical infrastructure facilities using attack drones, as well as sea- and land-based missiles.
The main direction of the attack is Kyiv region.
The radio engineering troops discovered and accompanied:
- 242 unmanned aerial vehicles of the Shahed, “Gerber” and other types – from the directions of Kursk, Orel, Millerovo, Primorsko-Akhtarsk (RF), Chauda, Gvardiyske (temporarily occupied Crimea), Donetsk (approximately 150 of them are “Shahedy”);
- 13 “Iskander-M” https://www.pravda.com.ua/S-400 ballistic missiles from launch areas in the Bryansk region of the Russian Federation;
- 22 Kalibr cruise missiles – from the Black Sea;
- 1 medium-range ballistic missile – from the Kapustin Yar range (Astrakhan region of the Russian Federation).

- On the evening of January 8, explosions rang out in Kyiv. The Russian Federation attacked the capital with drones. In the Desnyan district, there is a hit by an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) on the roof of a residential building. So far, 4 deaths are known.
- Explosions rang out in Lviv on the evening of January 8 after the announcement of an air raid alert. Later it became known that under attack hit a critical infrastructure facility in the region.
- Colonel Yuriy Ignat, head of the communications department of the command of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, said in a comment to the UP that Russia could strike the Lviv region from the Kapustin Yar training ground in the Astrakhan regionwhere, according to preliminary information, the Oreshnik complex is based.
