“A 57-year-old man from Kherson, who was injured by Russian shelling of the central part of the city, died in the hospital. The doctors fought to the last for the wounded man’s life, but the injuries turned out to be too severe,” he wrote in a telegram.
According to the regional prosecutor’s office, on January 8, around 12:20 p.m., the Russian military fired artillery at the premises of a cafe in Kherson. The authorities reported two dead and three wounded.
Last day, as a result of Russian aggression, as reported by the local authorities, three people were killed and two more were injured.
On November 11, 2022, the Ukrainian military liberated Kherson from Russian occupation. The city, like the right-bank part of the region, was under Russian control from the first days of the full-scale invasion. Kherson was the only regional center captured by the invaders after February 24, 2022.
Currently, Kherson is attacked by Russian drones and artillery every day, and people die.
In addition, the Russian military regularly attacks other Ukrainian regions with various types of weapons – attack UAVs, missiles, anti-aircraft missiles, and anti-aircraft missiles.
The leadership of Russia denies that the Russian army during a full-scale war inflicts targeted strikes on the civilian infrastructure of the cities and villages of Ukraine, killing the civilian population and destroying hospitals, schools, kindergartens, energy and water supply facilities.
The Ukrainian authorities and international organizations qualify these strikes as war crimes of the Russian Federation and emphasize that they are purposeful in nature.
