Thus, to prevent further destruction of the building, temporary decoration is installed, which will help maintain the optimal temperature regime inside the building. These actions are aimed at protecting the facades and interior spaces from external influences while the preparatory work for the continuation of the restoration continues.
In addition, it is planned to manufacture new glass elements of the central stained-glass composition, destroyed during the shelling, after the completion of the report on losses and damages and the approval of the list of relevant actions for the repair of the complex of buildings.
As noted in the Ministry of Culture, restoration will take place on the basis of authentic drawings and entries in the object’s restoration passport. In particular, the stained-glass windows will be made of modern materials that meet today’s challenges and maximally reveal the ideas of the authors of 1899-1909.
The ministry also emphasized that the restoration work carried out by the Soviet authorities during 1979-1981 for the reconstruction of the interior premises changed the purpose of the building, adapting it for concert activities. Accordingly, structural and decorative elements were replaced, and the glass of the central stained glass composition was replaced with a mediocre version.
