The leadership of Taras Shevchenko Kyiv National University has decided to terminate the contract with Mykyta Vasylenko, professor of the department of print media and history of journalism of the Educational and Scientific Institute of Journalism. This decision is based on the conclusions of the Academic Council of the National Institute of Journalism, the Standing Commission of the Academic Council of the University on Ethics and other collegial bodies, which found that the professor violated the norms of the Code of Ethics of the university community, the terms of the contract and general ethical standards
It is noted that the basis of this decision was systemic violations recorded in the department’s conclusions, and the university emphasized that “Professor Mykyta Vasylenko’s behavior not only contradicted the basic ethical principles of the university community, but also caused reputational damage to the university.”
The rector has already signed an order on early termination of the contract with Vasylenko, which will be terminated on December 30.
