Details: At the beginning of June 2024, during the monitoring of social networks, law enforcement officers discovered a video in which Russian soldiers are abusing Ukrainian prisoners of war.

During three months of painstaking work, the prosecutors, together with SBU investigators, conducted a complex of necessary investigative actions, established the place and time of the crime, and also identified two Russian soldiers who abused Ukrainian defenders.

It is about:

Oleksiy Kyprina (call sign “Bars”) – commander of the 3rd Rifle Company of the 153rd Tank Regiment of the 47th Tank Division of the 1st Tank Army of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation;

Oleksiy Kuchmanova (call sign “Knavon”) – a senior rifleman of the 2nd platoon of the 3rd rifle company of the aforementioned military unit of the aggressor country.

According to the investigation, at the end of May near the village of Staritsa of the Chuguyiv district, the occupiers captured four Ukrainian soldiers. They blindfolded them, tied their hands and carried out a “convoy”. At the same time, the suspects kicked the Ukrainian defenders all over their bodies, simulated execution by firing automatic weapons, and applied psychological pressure.

The commander filmed the entire process of committing the crime on his phone, and then posted it on the Internet.

In addition, the law enforcement officers found out that the commander repeatedly published on social networks his photos in military uniform from different years with the caption “guarding Russia since 2014”. There is also information about his many years of service in the so-called “militia” of the illegal armed group “LPR”.

Two Russian servicemen were informed in absentia about the suspicion of ill-treatment of prisoners of war committed by a group of persons in a previous conspiracy.

Currently, the issue of declaring wanted suspects is being resolved.
