British Prime Minister Keir Starmer has assured that London is ready to play a “full role” in possible peacekeeping activities in Ukraine, although he does not currently see such a prospect.

Details: Starmer was asked whether Britain would be willing to play a role in any peace talks regarding Ukraine, including by deploying British troops to keep the peace.
“I don’t want to rush ahead, but I made it clear that we will play our full role – because it is not only about the sovereignty of Ukraine,” the British Prime Minister emphasized.
“It’s about what impact this will have on Great Britain, on our values, our freedom, our democracy. Because if Russia succeeds in this aggression, it will affect all of us for a very, very long time,” he added.
In December 2024, President Volodymyr Zelenskyi admitted that the idea of placing a peacekeeping mission in Ukraine as one of the safeguards against a new Russian attack was discussed at the meetings in Brussels, and said that he already “sees the positive” from some leaders.
Zelensky later stated that the placement of European peacekeepers in Ukraine is possible, but should not exclude its future membership in NATO.
