Direct speech of the president of the Czech Republic: “That’s why I decided to appoint him to the position of prime minister on Tuesday, December 9, at 9 o’clock. Thus, I respect the results of the elections to the Chamber of Deputies of the Parliament and the progress of negotiations on the formation of a coalition government.”
Andrey Babish is a billionaire and the owner of the Agrofert holding, which receives subsidies from the European Union. The appointment of Babis as the prime minister of the Czech Republic – an EU member state – would cause a conflict of interests.
