The President of Georgia pardoned an activist convicted for participating in actions against the law on “foreign agents”

Shanidze is a public activist and volunteer who fought on the side of Ukraine after the start of the full-scale Russian invasion, the publication writes.

It is noted that he was detained for damaging a video surveillance camera at a rally near the Georgian Parliament building. Subsequently, an additional charge was brought against Shanidze for allegedly growing narcotic plants.

The Tbilisi City Court sentenced the activist to 1.5 years of imprisonment on the first charge, and to 4 years on the second charge.
